Its waters are emerald green, in marked contrast with the reddish hues of its surrounding peatbogs. Peatbogs are wetlands, so for a pleasant walk we can provide you with rubber boots, if necessary (upon prior request). While the journey doesn\u2019t involve going up steep slopes, a minimum physical fitness is required.-<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d6b319; font-size: 20px;\">Itinerary:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Departure from hotel by bus, we take the National Route N\u00ba3 and drive northeast, towards Tierra Mayor Valley.<br \/>\nOnce 20 km (12.5 miles) from Ushuaia, our walk begins along the forest, crossing rivers and peatbogs and, after a 4.5 km trek (2.8 miles), we get to the Esmeralda Lagoon (450 m a.s.l.); a point to behold the beauty and majestic of nature.<br \/>\nAfter a break we resume the journey towards the Ojo del Albino Glacier.-<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d6b319; font-size: 20px;\">An out-of-this world mass of ice <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Albino Glacier is located above the Esmeralda lagoon, which it feeds. This is a true high-altitude trek, combining all the possible landscapes of the area. We\u2019ll enjoy the unique high-mountain environment where rocks, snow and ice prevail.<br \/>\nLooking down, Laguna Esmeralda becomes a tiny point of reference framed by the greens of the forest. We\u2019ll ascend up to a vantage point, wherefrom we will be able to fully appreciate the sheer majesty of the Fuegian Andes.<br \/>\nThe Glacier itself is a plain ice massif, crisscrossed by crevasses and surrounded by dark, jagged peaks. Its snowmelt waters flow into the Ojo del Albino, where icebergs of considerable size float around.<br \/>\nLunch will be by the lagoon side, surrounded by mountains and forests that, depending on the season, will present us with different shades ranging from deep green, through yellow, ocher, red, to white. With us, all of this makes your stay a magic and one-in-a-lifetime experience.
