HELICOPTER SCENIC FLIGHTS

USHUAIA CITY

Time of flight: 7 minutes
We take off towards the eastern slope of Susana Mount, where we can see an area cleared by the former prisoners of Ushuaia. While we fly over the city, we can see the picturesque building of the former prison, the port and we also get a general view of the Martial glaciar, culminating with the charming Bay of Ushuaia.

ESMERALDA LAGOON

Time of flight: 15 minutes
We take off, and while we fly over the city, we move towards the eastern section of the island, soon we will be able to see the edgy summit of almost 4350 feet high from our emblematic, Olivia Mountain.
We continue through the Olivia River Valley, from which, we can see the Carbajal Valley with its imposing peatlands. Then we fly through the Tierra Mayor Valley until we reach the Esmeralda lagoon, which as it is formed by melted ice from a glaciar, has a wonderful emerald color, as its name implies.
We return to the city, culminating with the charming Bay of Ushuaia.

LANDING AT LE CLOCHE SUMMIT (Top of the Andes Mountain Range)

Time of flight: 30 minutes

We take off, and while we fly over the city, we move towards the east, soon we will be able to see the edgy summit of almost 4350 feet high from our emblematic, Olivia mountain.

We continue through the Olivia River Valley, from which, we can see the Carbajal Valley with its imposing peatlands. Then we fly through the Tierra Mayor valley until we reach the Emerald Lagoon, which as it is formed by melted ice from a glaciar, has a wonderful emerald colour, as its name implies.

We fly higher until we land on the summit of Le Cloche Mountain. Here, at the top of the Andes Mountain Range we have a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the channel. This mountain located at the south of Olivia Mountain reaches 3.273 feet high and was baptized by Louis f. Martial expedition as «cloche», because of its bell shape. We spend some time sightseeing and we have the opportunity to take us a picture standing at the top of the Andes Mountain Range with Ushuaia city just behind us.

After spending some time admiring the view we fly along the Beagle channel coast, culminating over the charming bay of Ushuaia.

REMOLINO RANCH (W/“VAPOR SARMIENTO” SHIPWRECK) AND CHAMPAGNE AT LE CLOCHE

Time of flight: 45 minutes

We take off, and while we fly over the city, we move towards the east, soon we will be able to see the edgy summit of almost 4350 feet high from our emblematic, Olivia Mountain.

We continue through the Olivia River Valley, from where we can see the Carbajal valley with its imposing peatlands. Then we fly through the Tierra Mayor Valley until we reach the Emerald Lagoon, which as it is formed by melted ice from a glaciar, has a wonderful emerald colour, as its name implies.

Later on, we fly in direction to the winter sports resorts, situated on the banks of the National Route N° 3. Here is where during the winter season Nordic skiing is practiced, as long as sleigh rides with dogs, snowmobiles and quads. Among the resorts we will be able to see the Castor Ski Centre, the southernmost ski resort in the world, and also where the Interski 2015 will take place.

Then we fly towards the Beagle Channel, till reach Remolino ranch, where while overflying its remains we will also appreciate a magnificent view of the “Vapor Presidente Sarmiento” shipwreck, stuck there since 1912.

During the way back, we fly along the Beagle Channel Coast, where we will find Tunel Ranch, a former factory of wooden barrels used in the past to move fat from Sea Lions hunted in the area; and “Les Eclaireurs” Lighthouse, located on an archipelago in the middle of the Beagle Channel.

We fly higher until we reach the summit of Le Cloche Mountain, where we land and from where we have a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the channel. This mountain located south of Olivia Mountain reaches 3.273 feet high and was baptized by Louis F. Martial expedition as «cloche», because of its bell shape. Here we have the opportunity to take us a picture standing at the top of the Andes Mountain Range with Ushuaia city just behind us; but also make a toast with champagne contemplating the magnificent view we have from that unique spot.

After this stop we arrive to the Heliport.

GREAT LAKES

Time of excursion: 2 hours

We take off and while we fly over the city, we move towards the east, we continue flying along the Beagle Channel coast. Soon we can see Tunel Ranch, former factory of wooden barrels used for moving fat from the sea lions that were hunted in the area; Remolino Ranch, historic establishment that belonged to one of the oldest families of the area; the “Vapor Presidente Sarmiento” ship wreck, which data’s from 1912; Almanza Port, small town which its inhabitants dedicate to catch king Crab and Salmon fish; Gable Island and Harberton Ranch, first one to settle in the province.

We change direction to north, between mountains through Harberton area. We reach the Great Lakes region: Yehuin, Chepelmuth, Escondido and Fagnano. Then we cross trough the Garibaldi Passage in direction to the winter sports resorts, situated on the banks of the National Route N° 3. Here is where during the winter season Nordic skiing is practiced, as long as sleigh rides with dogs, snowmobiles and quads. Among the resorts we will be able to see the Castor Ski Centre, the southernmost ski resort in the world, and also where the Interski 2015 will take place.

By the end of the Valley, we fly over the Emerald Lagoon, which as it is formed by melted ice from a glaciar, has a wonderful emerald colour, as its name implies. After coming across the Olivia Mountain, we return to the heliport culminating over the charming bay of Ushuaia

HARBERTON AND PENGUINS (SUMMER)

Time of Excursion: Half a Day

We take off and while we fly over the city, we move towards the east, we continue flying along the Beagle Channel coast. Soon we can see Tunel Ranch, former factory of wooden barrels used for moving fat from the sea lions that were hunted in the area; Remolino Ranch, historic establishment that belonged to one of the oldest families of the area; the remains of the “Vapor Presidente Sarmiento” shipwreck, which data’s from 1912; Almanza Port, small town which its inhabitants dedicate to catch king Crab and Salmon fish.

Then we land in Harberton Ranch, first ranch to settle in the province. Here we can make different activities depending on the time of the year, such as visiting the ranch and its museum, crossing to Martillo Island, where in summer lives a penguin colony or just enjoy of a hot chocolate in the coffee bar of the ranch.

During the way back to the city, we fly higher until we land on the summit of Le Cloche Mountain. Here, at the top of the Andes Mountain Range we have a spectacular panoramic view of the city and the channel. TORITO BAY: HELICOPTER, SAILING, TREKKING AND LUNCH!

Time of Excursion: Half a Day

After gaining height, we land on the top of the Andes Mountain Range, specifically on the Le Cloche Mountain at 1100 meters of height. After getting out of the helicopter, we will get unique and wonderful pictures of Ushuaia city and its surroundings (like the majestic Olivia mount, the Beagle channel, the Andes Mountain Range and the Tierra del Fuego National Park, between others).

Later we get into Tierra Mayor Valley in order to overflight the beautiful Emerald lagoon which captivates us with its extraordinary colour and environment. We keep on flying through the valley, watching the different winter sports resorts situated on the banks of the National Route N° 3. Here is where during the winter season Nordic skiing is practiced, as long as sleigh rides with dogs, snowmobiles and quads. Later on we head to the Fagnano Lake which due to its big size is one of the five biggest lakes in South America. In the way, we will be able to observe different mountain lagoons and the remains that the huge fire left at the beginning of the 2012. While we overflight the Fagnano lake shore, we start our landing at the Bahia Torito Mountain Hostel, a magic place which only can be access by maritime way or helicopter. The owner’s kindness during the visit is one of the best virtues of the place. After the friendly welcome, there’s a possibility to sail the cold waters of the Fagnano Lake in order to do a mini-trekking till reach the cascade of 7 lagoons. After that, we return to the Bahia Torito facilities, where we will have a typical fuegian lunch (all included).

After an unforgettable time spent in this wonderful place, we start our way back overflying the Beban Passage in direction to the Carbajal Valley, till reach again Ushuaia city and our heliport.

PENÍNSULA MITRE

Time of Excursion: Full Day

We depart with north direction overflying the port and the southernmost city in the world and we move towards the east, where soon we will be able to see the edgy summit of almost 4350 feet high from our emblematic, Olivia Mountain. After gaining height, we land on the top of the Andes Mountain Range, specifically on the Le Cloche Mountain at 1100 meters of height. After this, we then turn left to admire the great Escondido and Fagnano Lakes as well as Santa Laura and San Ricardo Lagoons. The next attraction will be the town of Tolhuin, known as the heart of the island. We continue heading towards the Atlantic Ocean flying across large rivers with an abundance of fish, landing afterwards at the mystical Policarpo Ranch. Here we can enjoy lunch or refreshments surrounded by the dramatic beauty of remote places.

We take off again and fly along Le Maire Strait encountering fjords and spectacular cliffs. Along the way and entering even deeper into the Beagle Channel we find the Chilean islands Lennox, Picton and Nueva. We will also overfly Moat, Harberton and Remolino Ranches catching a glimpse of the Community of Puerto Williams.

HELI-SLED DOGS (WINTER)

Duration 45 Minutes of Excursion

We depart with north direction overflying the port and the southernmost city in the world and we move towards the east, where soon we will be able to see the edgy summit of almost 4350 feet high from our emblematic, Olivia Mountain. After gaining height, we land on the top of the Andes Mountain Range, specifically on the Le Cloche Mountain at 1100 meters of height. After getting out of the helicopter, we will get unique and wonderful pictures of Ushuaia city and its surroundings (like the majestic Olivia mount, the Beagle channel, the Andes Mountain Range and the Tierra del Fuego National Park, between others).

Then we continue the trip to Valle de Lobos to area, where we will start an amazing ride with Sled-Dogs, and then make a snowshoe hike, each one of approximately 15 min. Returning to the city by helicopter.

After crossing “Le Maire” straight, we reach the Staten Island, further east the “End of the World Lighthouse”, iconic mystery reflected in the famous Julio Verne´s storyteller written around 1901.
We return along the southern coast until we reach the shores of the Beagle channel. We fly towards the city, meanwhile we come across former ranches as well as the famous Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, the Ushuaia port, the bay and the Old Prison.
